Renew acquaintances with old friends that are home for the holidays. Then sit back and enjoy as children present an easily-staged pageant that beautifully recaps the Christmas story. One adult reader speaks the poetry of beloved hymns while the other narrates the Christmas story with brief lead-ins to the boys and girls. Each child carries a symbol relating to the story and speaks a few lines of Scripture. When the complete story of Jesus' birth through his baptism is told, all the children form a pageant line and sing a closing carol. Instructions for making the simple prop symbols as a class activity are included. Program may also be used in a worship service. |
